Ann Althouse writes a nice post on Eastwood and how it hurts Obama that this thing has become "viral". Once again I loved it. Even Bill Maher of all people appreciated it.

Thoughts on Eastwood

I loved it. Reading and listening today and Rush liked it, Beck was confused, everyone else panning it at best. Again, I loved it. Summed up nicely from my Morning Jolt from National Review Online. "

Then we got our mystery guest . . . Clint Eastwood. It . . . was odd. Not consistently terrible as some argued. I have no doubt some folks loved it. It may very well have actually moved some votes. But boy, did it get weird at times. First, Eastwood looks old. But even more than that, he used no notes or script, and his remarks appeared to be stream of consciousness. Dirty Harry's first two shots were through each of the teleprompters. He pretended to be having a conversation with Obama, except I don't know if he ever clearly set up the premise, so it seemed like he was hearing voices. But then every time he came up to the edge of the cliff, and you thought the segment would be an absolute train-wreck . . . he pulled back with some great line: "I thought maybe it was just because somebody had the stupid idea of trying terrorists in downtown New York City." "Politicians are employees of ours." "Of course we all now Biden is the intellect of the Democratic party." And if the aim of this convention is to persuade Obama voters of 2008 that it's okay to vote for Romney in 2012, then maybe nothing said last night will be more powerful than Eastwood's gravelly, "When somebody does not do the job, you've got to let them go."

You could also follow your crushes - Paul Ryan and Dana Perino. I love twitter. I don't send out very many tweets, but I love to read them.

Honestly. I am hard-pressed to pick a favorite between Rubio and Ryan. Two outstanding young men. I keep hearing comments about how deep the Republican bench is compared to the dems. Awesome young talent.

Thoughts on Night 3

First reaction and strongest: after all I learned about Mitt Romney tonight, I could not care less how he did as a speaker. Been there done that with a great orator. Mitt Romney is going to be a great president.

Best line of the night: Rubio - the problem is not that Obama is a bad person, it's that he's a bad president.

Loved Rubio's speech and I loved the president of Staples. Videos were awesome. I watched cspan so I got to see every speaker and see every video.  The personal friends who talked for Romney were awesome. So was the liberal dem who served in his cabinet.

Best tweet of the night from my favorite tweeter, the always hysterical Jonah Goldberg of National Review: Rubio vs Ryan in 2020 and the universe will implode on itself.

On to the debates and on to November. I called it months ago. Romney will win by at LEAST a comfortable margin.

Watching night 3

10:15p...starting now. Breezed through the first hour. Skipped to Eastwood, loving his opening. What a backdrop picture. FANTASTIC

10:18p...Eastwood stared in a movie called Hang 'en High....RASIST. Code word dog whistle for the rednecks!

10:21p...talking to the empty chair about gizmo and trying terrorist in nyc. Odd but I kinda like it.

10:25p...slams Biden. Hilarious!

10:27p...Eastwood is killing me. I am rolling out of my imaginary chair. Dad has to watch this!

10:40p...yup Ryan/Rubio has no Democratic equal. Rubio is the boogie man hiding in every lib Dem's closet

11:35p...done. Good, not great. Outclassed by Ryan and Rubio. Was best when he spoke as a businessman, not a politician. My hero Ann Althouse summed it up best "And now, Romney has given his speech. It was a Romney speech." That said I agree, he will win comfortably. I will tune in for the dems next week.

Convention Night 3

Finally in on my iPad. Typing will be rough, but hear we go!

Couldn't agree more on Paul Ryan's speech. Wow. Loved every minute of it. Condi was a great lead in. She did NOT use a TelePrompTer. She's a classy, smart woman. I loved Martinez from New Mexico, too. "Damn Chuck, we're Republicans!" If you don't know that reference , you need to find it. Maybe on utube.

Can't wait for Eastwood and Rubio tonight. I hope Romney nails it.
