Thought of Terry....

This guy is hilarious and we just got our tickets in the mail to see him in March.  I'm super excited.  (I figure Terry will fix this and post the actual video.)

UPDATE: I fixed it - Terry

3 Quick Hits Revisted

1. 999 never had a chance from the start. Here are my observations about Cain's situation (stuff I read or heard in the last few days). Where are all Cain's sexual harrassment accusers now? They were all going to appear "en masse" to do him in and give details. We have not seen any. Now this woman comes out of the shadows. She is broke, has a questionable past, and has accused other men of stuff. She said today that the last time she heard from Cain was last week. Really? Is he that big of a fool? The Chicago machine that produced Mayor Daly and son, the current mayor, and Barry himself is perfectly capable of drumming up this stuff. Victor Davis Hanson has an excellent article at National Review online called Obama 101. (Someday I'll figure out how to link it.) Anyway, it's a great read. In it he writes about how Obama brought a lawsuit to get rid of his opponents in his first election in 1996. Then the sealed divorce record of his Senate opponent in his race from his Illinois Senate seat were "mysteriously" unsealed and his opponent was forced to drop out. The only the left hates worse than a white conservative is a black one. Cain was destined to drop out, but I'm glad he's standing up to this. What a witch hunt.
2. Insanity.
3. Hyperbole.

3 Quick Hits

1. 999 gets 86ed.

I still don't believe all the stuff about Cain and the harrassment claims for reasons I posted early by Ann Coulter (Chicago connections, etc). However, this latest accusation from the woman from Atlanta sounds credible too me. The fact that it originated where he actually worked for a long time and the fact he is now "re-assessing" his presidential bid makes me believe there is some truth too it. Cain gets bounced, Bachman and Newt get bumps, Romney stays at the same 20-25 percent.

2. Occupy vs Tea Party. (UPDATE: I prefer to title this section - All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.)

Mom loves this stuff. Richmond, VA Tea Party holds rallies at a public park on tax day and pays the city for use of the park, sanitation, and police overtime associated with its event (total is roughly $8000). Meanwhile, the Occupy Richmond protest goes and takes over the same park without permits. The mayor decides it is cool with him and even provides sanitation and police patrols. The Tea Party then submitts its receipts for its event for repayment. What happens next? The city of Richmond is auditing the Tea Party. Full article here.

3. Dad is now Rory McCloud.

Dad informed Katie (and me later) that after having attended the Mullihan Thanksgiving dinner he will be faking his own death if he has to go to the Mullihan Christmas. So if anyone gets calls from a person in a bad fake Scottish accent talking to you about the kids, tractors, Shipton, and your failure as a Catholic it is probably Dad who has faked his death and locked himself in the barn surviving on morning dew and Raccoon vitles.

God Save the Queen

1. Rutabaga is the BOMB.

2. Tonight, an hour after I put the kids to bed I heard Drew crying. I found him in Evan's room at the side of the bed and I'm pretty sure he had fallen out of the bed. Evan was shoved over against the wall. Drew was in a pair of jeans, some underwear and a polo shirt completely buttoned up but on backwards. The polo shirt had been hanging on the top bar of his closet when he went to bed. Have you seen that show Wipe-Out? Drew's gonna show that course who's boss in ten years.

3. You know the annoying people in the mall who have little stores set up in the middle. They stand there and try to hand you stuff as you walk by just like the Mexicans in Vegas who stand there and slap porn cards and hand them to you as you walk down the street. This morning a guy held out one of those stupid samples and said, "Michael Jackson wants to send you a message." (I kid you not) To which I replied, "No thanks and I sure as hell don't want a message from him." Literally I said this out loud, very loud and kept walking. It was a mom moment. I completely forgot that my mouth was verbalizing what my brain was thinking. And then just like that I was over it.

4. GO HUSKERS! GO BIG RED! WAY TO BEAT IOWA!

5. Darci is insane. I bow at her feet. She is the Black Friday Queen. You know that person that REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wants that doorbuster but didn't get it and goes home with their head held in shame? Little do they know that Darci is in possession of said item and that in a few short weeks it will be returned to the store. Take that loser Black Friday Shopper. Boooyaaaa booooyeeeeeeee! Darci got it. She possesses it. She obtained it like a crack addict. And when she comes off that high, she's taking it back to the store. God Save the Queen.

It's Debate Night

CNN - 7:00 - Republican Debate on National Security
Two debates ago, I sent Terry real-time e-mails with my comments on the debate. I got the idea from the debate before when I read twitter comments from Jonah Goldberg and S.E. Cupp during that debate. It was so much fun to read their comments, and I decided that I could do the same thing - make comments to others rather than just yelling at the tv all by myself. Terry and I watched the last debate together, which was REALLY fun.
So, tonight Terry and I are inviting you to comment with us during the debate. We are both taping it, and we plan to start watching around 8:30 (after Terry puts the kids to bed.) Join us in making comments (the more sarcastic the better). Matt, we expect to hear from you as you defend Ron Paul (if that's possible on national security).

After church Noah stated "mom, church equals fridays for lunch." How could I refuse to take him? When the waiter was rounding and asked us how our meal was Noah stated "just delicious. Now we'll have some dessert please." (I did shoot down dessert though.)

More Occupy Gems

For more hilarity in your weekend, take a little stroll through OWS's website at occupywallstreet.org. Here are some gems that I read today. (You can't make this stuff up.)
OWS uses a "non-binding consensus based collective descision making tool known as 'people's assembly.'"
Here are some tips from the site's "quick guide in group dynamics in people's assemblies." They describe a number of recommended gestures, among them are "applause/agreement - upraised open hands moving from side to side" and "disagreement - arms folded in cross above the head" and "difficulty hearing - hand cupped to ear."
They also have a section of "Oral Expressions (capital letters theirs) recommended for moderators and speakers." They recommend "Positve Speech and avoiding Negative Speech which would close the door to constructive debate."
Here are the examples they give of Positive Speech: "'Don't touch that dog or it will bite you' could be rephrased as 'Be careful with that dog because it could bite you and neither of us would like that" or "'If we don't reach a consensus here all efforts will go to waste' could be rephrased as "'It's important we reach a consensus in this point or we could end up losing strength as a group and nobody wants that to happen.'"
One final gem: "We use Inclusive Speech which makes no gender distinctions." (They call each other "it"?????)
Seriously. You have to check out their site. It goes on and on like this. Endless guidelines and recommendations.

Gracie Doo

Grace is getting better. Takes two regular timed naps now and she has started feeding herself... eating puffs and holding her own bottle. Still pretty immobile, but that is in true Evans fashion. She is just content to sit surrounded by toys. Sadly she is going to own me, Noah I can thump without remorse. Grace on the other hand... I am going to have to come up with something. Stupid Darci making me cute kids.

More Daily Show Funny

One of my favorites. Best quote: "That thing could really tow the boat I don't have up the mountain I don't live near."

The Daily Show vs. Occupy Protests

I don't watch the Daily Show, but I did come across this. 5 minutes of hilarity.

Althouse Fan

Loved the Althouse post. She's got a new fan. So nice to watch the debate with you, too, Terry. All this wisdom goes to waste at my house - your dad is not necessarily interested in my commentary. I've taken to screaming at the tv anyway. He just slinks down to the basement with a jar of peanuts, a block of cheese, and a sharp knife. You all can look forward to the next big debate. Terry and I plan to get a real time blog going during it with our expert analysis coming to you instantaneously.
So on the big 60 Minutes "expose" last night, which I missed, Fox News reported tonight that 70% of the incidents of corruption reported in the guys book were attributed to democrats. Of the 6 incidents reported in the CBS piece, 5 were republicans and 1 was a democrat. Now I know that there is enough corruption on both sides of the aisle to go around, but once again, the mainstream media creates the skew in favor of the liberal side.
Katie, maybe you can tell Drew that Santa won't bring him a present if he's not a good little boy? Okay, nevermind. He's you on steroids, but he is you. I never got much sorry from you, either. You would rather have let spiders crawl over your face and shit in your mouth than to tell me you were sorry about anything. Just saying.

Drew's for Free

My loving, awesome, kissable, huggable, wonderful, exciting, little Drew has turned into the naughiest, worst behaved child in the world. I would take Evan every day of the week over Drew and twice on Sunday. Does that capture my pain? Where has my child gone? Oh, he's gone to 2.5....

After timeout, Drew are you sorry for hitting? "No." Drew you have to be sorry to get out of timeout, "I'm not sorry."

Drew's definition of sharing is, give it to me I want it.

Drew at McDonalds. Drew would you like chicken nuggets or a cheeseburger? "Ice cream."

Last week he was found eating crackers smeared with nutella on the counter using a sharp knife to accomplish the task.

Yesterday he got out all of the tools out of the kit and went to down on the garage door.

Now he's trying to throw the basketball and hit the TV mounted above the fire place.

His ass is redder than fat kids cheeks after a sunburn or a great piece of pie.

Debate, Newt, and Agenda 21

Watched the debate last night with Mom, everyone should watch a debate with her. It is a riot and educational at the same time.

Ma, you gotta read Ann Althouse's analysis of Newt, it is almost exactly what you were saying. Also, here is that info on Agenda 21 Newt refered to.

Mom cooked....

...and it was actually good. She made ground up chuck and it suceeded in not making me ill. Actually had two helpings. I also won the battle of wills over Noah, he ate half a serving (actually liked it once he tried it).

Only in Iowa

18 year old high school student elected mayor of a small Iowa town.

Creeper

I can't stand that dude from Texas running for President. Major creeper. "Ooooops" is right duder.

It's a Christmas tree again, and the 8th sign of the apocolypse

Latest thing to upset the professionally aggitated...Gov. Walker changes the name of the "holiday tree" on display in the Capitol rotunda back to a CHRISTMAS tree. Needless to say, the crazies are not happy.

And Kate Gosselin is back, oh boy!

Let go and let God

I get passionate about things. I get worked up. Things can really bother me, especially something I believe to be a grave injustice. Maybe this is my greatest quality, maybe its my worst, but I possess it by nature. A homosexual Rutgers University student getting videotaped having sex without his knowledge by his roommate and then later killing himself really bothers me. A coach at Penn State University molesting children for years with reported eyewitness reports, blows me away.

Here is the thing. For 7 of my 9 years in my career I worked with an individual who I always thought was off, weird, annoying, spacey, manipulative, strange - or maybe I was being too hard? I tried to talk myself out of these suspicious thoughts every time he did something right. But more often than not he was doing something wrong. Stupid things, dumb mistakes in the work place. Maybe it was me? But all of my coworkers felt this way about him - all of us. In my day-to-day activities, I work alone. My contact with him in a work-related setting was maybe 10 to 12 times per year. My contact with him in a personal setting was none. But either way, I couldn't stand him, and my instincts always told me he was a creep, even when my head tried to talk me out of it.

I never suspected he was a sexual predator and never had any knowledge of him doing anything inappropriate; however, when it was brought to my attention that he was arrested two years ago for molesting a child in his home, I wasn't exactly shocked, but I was sick to my stomach. He'd just adopted a little girl from China. I had just seen him two weeks prior to his arrest and noticed that he had put on a lot of weight. My mind went through every encounter, every conversation, every time I had ever seen him in the last seven years. For days I could not stop obsessing about it. When I later learned that he had admitted to his pastor he was drugging and raping his 14-year old son, I was numb. I thought it had been the girl. Either way it was horrible. He did the unspeakable to his own son.

This rocked me. I was devastated, angry, pissed, and sad. My only solace in the entire situation is that the pastor immediately drove him to the police station after his confession. He was arrested, charged, tried, and convicted. He currently sits in prison.

Another co-worker of mine, who I respect second only to my mother, has always said to me, "Katie, whatever people do in their life that is bad, it will always come to roost." I remind myself of this all the time, especially in my profession when I know someone is up to something, but I can't prove it or don't feel like I have enough information.

Even with my limited contact with this co-worker, I always knew he was a creep. The amount of contact that the Penn State staff and coaches had with Sandusky and the amount of access Sandusky had to young boys leads me to conclude only one thing: they knew, they all knew. They played judge, jury, and executioner in their own minds. They may have only suspected things, but they never let the police in on their suspicions so the police could do their job. The grand jury investigation also speaks for itself. It's horrifying. The sins of them all finally came to roost.

I saw one of those clever posters today that read: "MISTAKES: It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others." I found this very appropriate and fitting.

A wise woman I know posted the other day, “Let go and let God.” To calm my own passion, this too was also fitting.

And an old pal from good ol’ Collins, Iowa said to me last night, "Ignore the world and go spend more time with your kids."

So that is what I'm off to do. I'm going to try and let my passion about this Penn State issue die down. I'm going to let go and let God. And I'm going to ignore the world for a while and play tractors, Power Rangers, basketball, and Star Wars.

But most of all I'm going to pray that my two boys will grow up in a country that will become more just and diligent in protecting its children.

In defense of Herman Cain

A good article from Ann Coulter here. Synopsis:

Herman Cain has spent his life living and working all over the country -- Indiana, Georgia, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, Washington, D.C. -- but never in Chicago. So it's curious that all the sexual harassment allegations against Cain emanate from Chicago: home of the Daley machine and Obama consigliere David Axelrod. And strangely enough, Cain's short, three-year tenure at the NRA is evidently the only period in his decades-long career during which he's alleged to have been a sexual predator.

And now, after a week of conservative eye-rolling over unspecified, anonymous accusations against Cain, we've suddenly got very specific sexual assault allegations from an all-new accuser out of ... Chicago. Herman Cain has never lived in Chicago. But you know who has? David Axelrod! And guess who lived in Axelrod's very building? Right again: Cain's latest accuser, Sharon Bialek.

The reason all this is relevant is that both Axelrod and Daley have a history of smearing political opponents by digging up claims of sexual misconduct against them.

John Brooks, Chicago's former fire commissioner, filed a lawsuit against Daley six months ago claiming Daley threatened to smear him with sexual harassment accusations if Brooks didn't resign. He resigned -- and the sexual harassment allegations were later found to be completely false.

One month before the 2004 Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate, Obama was way down in the polls, about to lose to Blair Hull, a multimillionaire securities trader. But then The Chicago Tribune -- where Axelrod used to work -- began publishing claims that Hull's second ex-wife, Brenda Sexton, had sought an order of protection against him during their 1998 divorce proceedings. From then until Election Day, Hull was embroiled in fighting the allegation that he was a "wife beater." He and his ex-wife eventually agreed to release their sealed divorce records. His first ex-wife, daughters and nanny defended him at a press conference, swearing he was never violent. During a Democratic debate, Hull was forced to explain that his wife kicked him and he had merely kicked her back."

The Republican nominee was Jack Ryan...but in a child custody dispute some years earlier, Ryan's ex-wife, Hollywood sex kittenJeri Lynn Ryan, had alleged that, while the couple was married, Jack had taken her to swingers clubs in Paris and New York. Jack Ryan adamantly denied the allegations. In the interest of protecting their son, he also requested that the records be put permanently under seal.

Axelrod's courthouse moles obtained the "sealed" records and, in no time, they were in the hands of every political operative in Chicago. Knowing perfectly well what was in the records, Chicago Tribune attorneys flew to California and requested that the court officially "unseal" them -- over the objections of both Jack and Jeri Ryan.

And that's how Obama became a senator four years after losing a congressional race toBobby Rush. (In a disastrous turn of events, Rush was not divorced.) Axelrod destroyed the only two men who stood between Obama and the Senate with illicitly obtained, lurid allegations from their pasts.

This time, Obama's little helpers have not only thrown a bomb into the Republican primary, but are hoping to destroy the man who deprives the Democrats of their only argument in 2012: If you oppose Obama, you must be a racist.

A film by Martin ScorTerry

I still find her fishy...

...and her story's suspicious too. As always go to England's newspapers to get real perspective, an interesting article here. Beck made a good point, if her story is true the media is laser like focused on a guy making a pass at a woman 14 years ago while completely ignoring the actual rapes happening at the Occupy Protests.

PS - Ma, I edited your posts. At the bottom of the screen when you write a new post you will see a box called LABELS. Tag the topic(s) of your post so they can be searched for easier, ie I can quick see all the posts on Noah, politics, religion, Jack, etc...

Stick a Fork in Herman Cain? And Insanity

I can't stand Gloria Allred, but sheesh - it's not looking good for Herman. I'm starting to wonder... Am I drinking the kool-aid?
This whole Occupy thing is insane. The infuriating thing is that the media made the Tea Party rallies out to be radical, and they are whitewashing the Occupy anarchy. The Bible says that in the end times the people will call evil good and good evil. Exactly.

Karate Kid

I don't know what's funnier - Noah or his parents giggling at him in the background. God bless that teacher. Whatever you're paying, it's not enough. The kid is going to need a private tutor.
Keep the videos coming.

Kicky McFacepunch honing his skills

So to start off I thought I would share what Noah has been up to. We enrolled him in 8 weeks of Karate lessons. Here he is after his first lesson in which he got his uniform...

And here he is during his second lesson, let's see if you can pick out which one is Noah...

Yup, that is our kid...future Rex Kwon Do expert.
