It's Your Day

Okay, who did you plug your nose and vote for today? I'm dying to know. Did you see/hear any of the candidates in person? What's the word on the street in Wisconsin? I realize that it's all academic at this point, but I'm interested to know how Wisconsinites are viewing their primary and the candidates.

  1. Voted Newt, a throw away but I had too. Mitt will win by 5+ because of the Paul Ryan endorsement.

Also, check out the question below that was on the ballot. It is a yes/no. I have heard of push polls, but push referendum voting is a new one.

    COLLECTIVE BARGAINING REFERENDUM
"Should all Wisconsin workers have the right to seek safe working conditions and fair pay through collective bargaining?"

Awesome, it was a Dane County only question and not state wide. Boy, how do you say no to that one. Somehow Darci and I found a way.

  2. Wow. That's almost a "when did you stop beating your wife" kind of question. How in the heck did that get on the ballot? Your legislators? What kind of weight does a yes vote carry? Those Wisconsin liberal/union people are RELENTLESS. Keep up the good fight in Wisconsin! No wonder Paul Ryan does so well in the Congress. He's had to deal with Wisconsin liberals all of his political life. Take on Obama? No problem!

  3. And another thing. I'm proud of you for voting Newt.

  4. Mitt already predicted the winner, only surprise will be the margin of victory. As to the referendum...

  6. But what does a yes vote mean? Is it binding in any way?

  7. Again, Dane County only. Non-binding. It is basically an opinion polls. We had one in 2010 asking if we would agree to a half percent sales tax to fund a train. Non-binding and it was a resounding no. This is a push vote so the pundits can say Dane County disagrees with Walker and his collective bargain reform without, you know, actually asking if we agreed with Walker's measures.

    Dane Co. Referendum
    Collective Bargaining

    92% of Precincts Reporting
    Yes 60,166 69%
    No 27,491 31%

  8. Got it. A sound bite for the liberals. I would call them dumbasses, but I gave up cussing for Lent.
