Can't Do It

I just can't bring myself to watch the State of the Union speech. I can't do it. I feel that I should watch just so I will know what BS BO is about to spew, but I can't stand it. I remember my Grandpa Caulkins listening to the radio that sat on a little table next to his easy chair. He would get so upset when he listened to the democrats that he'd rock back and forth in his rocking chair, trying to catch his breath. His agitation always aggravated his emphazema (probably spelled that wrong). Anyway, Grandma would gently say, "Now Oce, turn off that radio." Well, I don't want to aggravate my kidney stones, or my brain, or my SOUL by listening to Obama, so I'm going to watch Snookie and the Situation or the Real Housewives of Anywhere on the Planet or even GOLF (sorry Mattie) instead of BO. Mmmm. Mmmm. Mmmm. (Rush listeners will know what that means.) Speaking of Rush, he had a great caller yesterday, a black truck driver who listens to Rush because he's a trucker and does nothing but listen to the radio, and he's been a liberal for years and an Obama supporter. Well, the Keystone Pipeline rejection made the trucker crazy, and now he's a Rush convert all the way. His conversation with Rush is a great read. And now for some Snookie.

  1. O'Reilly had a good line in his talking points tonight (usually I fast forward through his talking points). He said that tonight the democrats will be jumping up and down while the republicans sit there looking like they have acid reflux.

I did think of the one and only way I would watch the SOTU. If and and only if Terry devised a drinking game like he did last year and we were all here to play the drinking game together. Now that would be fun. And we'd all be drunk by Biden's 5th standing O.

  2. I am missing most of it too ma, both because I can't stand it, but also Gracie is SICK. I did not know a baby could throw up like that, no baby puke but I'm 18 and drank too many wine coolers puke. It was NASTY. Of course the 20 minutes of the SOTU I did watch made me want to join her.
